Meet Will Kelsay, Professional XTERRA triathlete from Boulder, Colorado.
A passion for XTERRA Triathlons
During Will’s senior year of college, “I recognized that I didn’t want to be behind a desk all my life so I found something that brought passion to my life – XTERRA - and I turned that into my career by becoming a professional triathlete”
Since then Will’s raced in over 100 events worldwide.
Sharing the dream
Will loves to share his passion and runs clinics to teach people about off road triathlon.
12-week, 12-race cross-country road trip
Will’s 2007 epic road trip earned him the title of Mr. XTERRA 2007. “The biggest thing I have learned from this trip is to just go for it! I realized that if you want to live life to the fullest, you shouldn’t hesitate or play things safe. Throw caution to the wind, don’t have regrets and don’t sweat the small stuff. If you have the right attitude, things always seem to work out in the end.”
Super foods for a super athlete
Will recently tried Holy Crap cereal for the first time when he was in Whistler, BC for the XTERRA Canadian Championship. “Being a top level athlete, I've tried many different foods that are described as "really healthy", "great for you", "will make you feel better", or even "help improve performance" and most of them, be to honest, taste awful. Holy Crap wasn't like that at all! I couldn't believe how good it tasted and after eating it for 2 months I could really feel the difference that it made in my everyday, highly active life. My energy levels were much more consistent, I wasn't so hungry all the time, and well... I was much more regular. I loved it!”
Fun and fit
Will is living the dream by choosing a career that energizes and excites him everyday.
Ancient Super Food of the Aztecs
Will loves Holy Crap and the benefits of its super food ingredients. The key ingredient of Holy Crap is chia, or Salvia Hispanica L. This oil seed crop is considered a perfect food because it’s one of the few vegetarian sources of complete protein. The Aztecs valued it more highly than gold. Holy Crap cereal is a chia-based, gluten free, lactose-free breakfast cereal. The Tarahumara Indians in Copper Canyon, Mexico, the greatest long distance runners on the planet, have had a long history of using this slow burning rocket fuel for both athletes and warriors alike. The main cereal ingredient is Chia or Salvia Hispanica L., which typically contains 20% protein, 34% oil, and 25% dietary fiber. Salvia Hispanica L. contains the highest Omega-3 nutrient source found in nature with perfectly balanced Omega 3, 6, 9 profiles and ratios. The next most abundant ingredient is hulled hemp hearts, which are low in carbohydrates, contain more protein than milk, meat or eggs and are suitable for those unable to digest gluten, sugar, milk, nuts and meat.
Be sure to hydrate/soak 2 tablespoons of cereal in 4 tablespoons of soy milk, juice or water to maximize its taste and health benefits. Skinny B is great in yogurt and smoothie drinks.
